I really appreciate the book of Joshua. I just finished reading chapter 6 this morning and just wanted to share some thoughts. I have no great insight as many of you have, just some personal experiences to share. The verse that Chris quoted in Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go" was such an encouragement to me. When we were back in Elgin and felt the Lord leading us to AZ, what an overwhelming change and yet to know HE is with us wherever we go, what a comfort. Then to actually move here and things didn't go as planned, things weren't making sense...isn't that how the Israelites had to feel when God asked them to march around Jericho rather than use their military power? It seemed to make no sense, but they were obedient and they won the victory. So, we too can do the same.

  1. Thanks Dan and Stephanie for your post and for being strong and courageous! Joshua 1:9 IS an amazing verse. This verse is my grandson's "life verse". His parents picked out a "life verse" for each of their children...which I think is a wonderful idea. His dad put the words to music and he and his dad sing his verse together with a guitar. It is really implanting God's word in his little heart and this verse will be an amazing reminder of his responsibility toward God and God's love for him "wherever he goes"...(even when things do not make sense!)
